The Provocativeness of Bob Carlos Clarke

Bob Carlos Clarke was an absolute master of photography, producing provocative snapshots edged with eroticism that earned him the title of Britain’s answer to Helmut Newton (whom he interviewed for his first article in Amateur Photographer). A passionately versatile individual, he was renowned for his powerful work and for his photographs of the beautiful and famous, such as Rachel Weisz and Keith Richards.

He gained global notoriety with his series of books, the last of which, Love-Dolls Never Die, explored his obsession with women and the blurred line that exists between fantasy and reality. “Living-Doll Women are everything a man thinks he desires, and his worst nightmare. Like supercars, they are desirable, dangerous, uncomfortable, high-maintenance, hard to handle, and useless for carrying luggage, exhilarating for a short ride with the top off but long haul hell.”

A limited number of his photographs used in this last book are now available exclusively from www.20ltd.com, from which you may purchase 1 of 9 large formats (that were part of the master set used in an exhibition held at the Eyestorm Gallery in London), or alternatively 1 of 100 smaller formats available, signed and numbered. Don’t miss your chance to pick up a piece of photographic history…
