I have never managed to build a solid relationship with time, and absolutely refuse to wear a watch that may help me go through my day in a slightly more organized fashion. That means that I constantly have to deal with delays and complaints from friends and colleagues (without mentioning that I am forever running late for fashion shows). But it seems I may be changing my ways, as Gucci’s latest Chiodo watch collection has managed to cast a spell on me. It was love at first sight. And I can assure you that it is not just a passing fling.
Gucci’s Chiodo watch collection is based on the iconic square head nail, which has been an ‘emblem’ of sorts for the House of Gucci since the 60’s. This exceptional nail motif can be found both in gold and silver, while the watch cases are being designed in two equally elegant square and round versions. As the House of Gucci declares with pride, the watches “can be enriched by a luminescent mother-of-pearl dial.” Needless to say, there are versions that also feature diamonds, and lots of them…
The Gucci Chiodo collection is made up of three separate lines, the Chiodo Sterling Silver, The Chiodo 18K Yellow Gold and the Chiodo Stainless Steel.
As for me, after having perused the Gucci website, I am convinced my friends were absolutely right. I do need a watch, so as to be punctual. And I think I’ve finally found it.
