Trends come and go, but it is a common knowledge that women love lip glosses! The delicious lip plumping and seductive glosses are the most likely to be found in many a handbag, even in those of women otherwise considered not to wear much make up!

So what is it about them? Are they simply less maintenance than lipsticks, which can sometimes look “too made up”? Or is it just about the shine?

Whatever it is about the humble lip gloss, cosmetic companies are continuing to feed women’s obsession with them by regularly bringing out new shades and textures. So, whatever colour or texture you go for in a gloss, only remember one thing – lip gloss and wind don’t mix, so don’t use while driving around in your convertible – it is really not a good look!

Dior has added new shades to their legendary Dior Addict range of lips glosses. Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss Reflect will add a full and sensual look to lips. Thanks to the presence of micro-glass pearls lips achieve the amazing reflective amplified shine! One of my favourite new colours is Lurex Plum, a perfect shade for the transitional season that will also wear well in autumn!

Poppy King, the legendary lipstick queen, has designed for us a new range of lip glosses called Lipstick Queen Shine. The range reflects the era of the 70s which was a huge decade for lip gloss, but this time the Shine gloss is pretty much described as “hard core gloss” – the colours are more intense and shiny for that all-flattering, lip-plumping wow effect! The range is available in six juicy shades that are separated into “saints” and “sinners” so choose accordingly!

L’Oreal Paris is constantly developing their range of Glam Shine glosses and this time the company has added seven new colours to their Glam Shine Blush collection. All the colours are pink based that reflects the current trend for romance – Glam Shine Blush in Rosewood Blush is a very wearable, suit-all colour.  The formula also moisturises the lips, leaving them soft, smooth and non-sticky.
