I don’t know about you, but having a bad hair day just about tops my personal list of ‘Things That Absolutely Ruin My Day’. Well, for those of you lucky enough to be living in Canada, you can cross that right off your list, and pronto.
Blo, an oh-so-fabulously-innovative hairdressing concept, is quite literally blowing up a storm in Vancouver–and for all the right reasons. The ‘Starbucks of hairdressing’, as described by one of its gorgeously gracious founders, Devon Brooks, Blo is a Blow Dry Bar. A place where you just step in and then step out of exactly 30 minutes later with divine locks that have been groomed to perfection. No dye, no cut–just the essential basics of wash and dry which make all the difference to your day.
Whilst comfortably seated on a Philippe Starck Louis Ghost chair, customers are treated to one of 8 different styles offered on Blo’s Bar Menu, ranging from the sultry Bardot Updo to the simple yet sleek European Chic ponytail…and all for a mere $30/€19. Hot off the success of it’s first Bar in South Granville, Blo has just opened its third Bar in the ultra plush Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver.
But what I truly applaud is Blo’s commitment to beauty and substance: not only do they support breast cancer research, but also work in environmentally-conscious ways to ensure that their ‘environmental footprint is as subtle as a baby’s.’
And have I mentioned that they have one truly hot motto? Just Blo Me.
