The Teen Choice Awards held in Los Angeles this past weekend was a resounding success, bringing out a horde of celebrities that included Mariah Carey, David Beckham, Fergie, Hayden Panettiere and Adam Sandler. Held at Hollywood’s swanky Level 3 venue, the Do Something Awards Pre-Party was undoubtedly a highlight of this charity-dedicated weekend.

Do Something.Org, the official charity of The Teen Choice Awards, is a not-for-profit organization based in New York that aims to provide young people with the power to make a difference in their community and their world. Their Pre-Party and Awards show awarded $10,000 to 9 young adults aged between 13 to 25 to support their nation-wide action and involvement. Such proactive acts of change ranged from helping endangered sea turtles start families to overseeing quality healthcare in Mali.

Hosted by Jojo, the Pre-Party saw a range of celebrities present the awards to the 9 winners, including Lil’ Mama, JC Chasez, Lauren Conrad and Cole and Dylan Sprouse.

“You know, we’re always doing a lot of charity work. We’ve been to every Camp Ronald McDonald and all of that. It’s really knowing that by the end of the day we’re doing a good thing. That’s what compels us to do all of this,” said Cole and Dylan Sprouse.

At the Teen Choice Awards, Do Something.Org was all the rage on everybody’s lips, particularly when Scarlett Johansson presented the organization’s $100,000 grant and the Teen Choice surfboard to grand prize winner, Chad Bullock.

Johansson said she had “the best award of the night” to present, and remarked that she didn’t know how the winner would “make it up on to the stage without falling down.” “I mean, I would if I won $100,000!” she exclaimed.

Lauren Conrad gave a shout-out to the charity when she accepted her surfboard for Choice TV Female Reality/Variety Star. “I went to the Do Something Awards last night and I got to meet a really amazing kid,” she said about nominee Pat Pedraja. “And I just wanted to say that those kids really are the winners tonight.”

Great quote by Scarlett Johansson! I heard she spent half an hour backstage at Teen Choice talking to each of the Do Something Award finalists individually! She seemed really touched by them – she even teared up while she was presenting the award.
