This was an amazing year for the world of beauty, with many innovative products having been launched and some enjoying more success than others. Here is a hand-picked selection of the few that I simply can’t live without!
Le Soin Noir by Givenchy (above) is a revolutionary cream that incorporates black algae sap concentrate, which gives the cream its amazing black colour. However, don’t worry, it quickly turns clear once it comes in contact with your skin. The algae don’t just give the cream its dark hue, but also have strong restorative powers that help repair the link between skin cells that slow down and counteract the effects of skin ageing.
Rodial has brought out this amazing ten minute face lift mask, Glamtox Peel (right), that firms, lifts, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles while at the same time purifying and brightening the skin. The brand stays true to its signature ingredient, so the pomegranate ellagic tannin is included to boost collagen production and to repair the skin. I’m definitely getting some more!
One of the most glamorous products this season which has been designed simply for the purpose of being seen is Dior’s Night Diamond limited edition illuminating powder compact set. 30 solitaire-cut crystals embellish the elegant black packaging, however perhaps it is slightly too bling for this economically subdued period. The compact is available in two shades, each of which will make the skin subtly iridescent and glowing.
Giorgio Armani’s Lip Wax (left) has become a staple in my make up kit – I love its waxy matte texture and the fact that you can apply it with your fingers like you would apply a lip balm, but with the coverage of a lipstick. I just can’t get enough of it and I hope they bring out more shades next season.
This product might not be new, but it’s being offered in a different packaging especially for the holiday season…plus, I really love it, so I thought I’d mention it as well! Stila’s best-selling Smudge Pots are coming in a pack of three mini sizes that also includes a brush. These pots are incredibly versatile and can be used either as an eyeliner or an eye shadow. Available in black, grey and bronze.
How gorgeous is the new colour collection from Leighton Denny? Criminal Nail Collection brings us six unique and dramatic colours, and my personal favourite has got to be Caught Red Handed (right). This amazing bright red shade sprinkled with shimmer will add sparkle to any party outfit.
Nicky Kinnaird of Space NK has recently created a luxury collection of four fragrances, which were inspired by her travels. My favourite is the one inspired by Japan – Santalrosa. It is a perfect blend of rose and lily of the valley, with base notes of musk, vanilla, cedar and sandalwood. The fragrance evokes calm and serenity, which makes it perfect for Christmas.
One of my favourite fragrances, Donna Karan Cashmere Mist, is now available as a candle. It’s seriously seductive and warm, just like the fragrance, and now your home can smell of it too. The scent reminds me of those cold winter evenings when you’re snuggled up in a cashmere blanket in front of the fireplace. Pure indulgence!
