This ingenious online dictionary seeks to gather snapshots according to their ‘literal, figurative, and personal meanings,’ capturing their essence in one single word which is then categorized alphabetically. Photography lovers will also be delighted to know that the Sony World Photography Awards Global Tour shall be leaving Delhi and hitting New York on Tuesday, more specifically the Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn. This travelling exhibit will be showcasing 97 images submitted by the 11 winners of last year’s Sony World Photography Awards, and shall be brought everywhere from Tokyo to Rio de Janeiro. Submissions are currently being accepted for the next edition, with the environment being the central theme. This global competition has partnered with The Prince’s Rainforest Project, and seeks to unite the global photographic community. This is a truly inspiring initiative, open to every photographer–both professional and amateur–from all four corners of the globe. Winners shall be announced on the 16th of April 2009 at a grand gala event in Cannes, so we suggest you get snapping!
