When Spa Treatments Become a Winter Necessity

ESPA Renew Limited Edition CollectionThere is no better way to prepare for the cold months ahead than by visiting a spa retreat that will leave you feeling ready to affront the

A personal favourite is the Bulgari Spa located in Milan’s plush Bulgari Hotel. Located a stone’s throw away from the city’s infamous Via della Spiga and Montenapoleone–home to some of the world’s most glorious luxury fashion boutiques–the spa provides a quiet respite from the frantic Milanese pulse. With the Orto Botancio di Brera next door, you will find it difficult to believe you are in fact at the heart of one of Italy’s largest metropolises.

Having been voted the best Overseas Spa Retreat by Condé Nast Traveller readers last year, this sleek, contemporary retreat offers some of the finest treatments around. Having collaborated with renowned spa specialists ESPA, we highly recommend their Frequent Traveller signature treatment, which is ideal for stressed jet setters seeking to combat the effects of jet lag and pollution.

Of course, not all of us have the fortune of being able to fly out to Milan for the weekend, nor to splash out on expensive spa treatments–particularly in a period where financial uncertainty is rife. Which is why we absolutely love ESPA’s latest limited edition Renew collection (above), that has been specifically created for using right at home and which is also relatively inexpensive. Comprising four different detoxifying products, they are designed to do everything from eliminate toxins to reduce cellulite. The Detoxifying Body Oil–packed with juniper berry to stimulate circulation, lemon and grapefruit to reduce cellulite–as well as the Detoxifying Salt Scrub containing cypress, grapefruit and eucalyptus, are positively divine. Leaving your skin buttery smooth and gently scented, we’ve such big fans that we’ve picked up two sets before they run out. And you should too.
