New York: Urban street art is as varied as it is innovative. The Wooster Collective will challenge anyone who thinks otherwise. Some proof of creativity from the concrete jungles of the world? Armsrock. He is a Danish artist who makes large paper people interact with a city’s environment. The entities appear to be perennially in transition, manifesting both their ephemeral existence and the very nature of urban life. To see photos of his work, pick up a copy of All My Friends are Made of Paper, part of the Wooster on Paper series, and let you curiosity unfold.
London: Most days you might feel as though you are teetering on the borderline, seriously about to lose your mind. But then there are those times when you feel a ray of light coming from a lucky star and all you want to do is go on a holiday surrounded by true blue paradise. Maybe even get hung up on a beautiful stranger. In this star-lit dream you can let loose, get into the groove and make any kind of confession on the dancefloor, the volume of the music will keep your secrets safe. At some point, though, you might hear your papa preachin’ that you need to come back to reality. That’s your cue to take a bow. ‘Who’s that girl?’ your admirers will say as you exit. ‘Simply Madonna,’ you’ll whisper. After all, she is the rock star that has provided the soundtrack for this little adventure. And no one knows lucky stars quite like her. Check out the Old Truman Brewery before 22 March to see what I mean.
