It may be Monday, but thankfully, there is a reason to celebrate it. Why? Tonic, one of the leading e-boutiques that encourages anything and everything that is ‘morally, mentally, or physically inspiring’, is launching the sale of a collection of tee-shirts designed by Donna Karan for Urban Zen today.

These fabulous limited edition tees are made from a blend of organic cotton and bamboo and are imprinted with designs inspired by one of the four pillars that support the Urban Zen movement: Future for Our Children, Preserving Cultures, Well Being and Save Our Planet.

As Donna Karan remarks, ‘The t-shirts are great because, aside from benefiting a cause close to my heart, they each feature a distinctive call to action. Urban Zen and Tonic were both founded to bring philanthropy and commerce together to raise awareness and inspire change, and this collaboration with Tonic is precisely that.’ Indeed, Donna is both a founder of Urban Zen and a member of Tonic’s Board of Creators.

20% of the proceeds received from the sales of these shirts, priced at $65 each, will be donated to both Urban Zen and Tonic in support of their inspiring causes.

Tonic is supported entirely by the sale of products which seek to do good for the world, products which include everything from unique handmade leather and silver bracelets to totes by Luella Bartley. Tonic works in a wholly transparent manner, and everything that is donated is tracked down to the last penny.  Most importantly, Tonic is all about being positive because, ‘Like you, we’re tired of being been bombarded with bad news, and we’re ready to turn things around in an upbeat way.’ And in these glum economic times, we all could do with a little more of this uplifting spirit.

Not only is Tonic packed with up-to-date (inspiring) news and tips on how to make a difference every day, but it also organises a series of auctions in which the autographed iPods of some of the industry’s biggest names, complete with their personal favourite playlists, are sold in benefit of Music Rising. Drew Barrymore’s iPod is currently up for grabs, whilst Will.i.am’s and Samantha Ronson’s iPods will be put up for auction in a handful of days.

So stop moping and just serve yourself a healthy dose of Tonic.
