Singapore’s gloomy economic forecast does not appear to be affecting its cultural climate. Amidst the 22nd Singapore International Film Festival, The Bevedere Beat and World Gourmet Summit, Singapore is gearing up for some serious Riviera action.
Boat Asia 2009 sails into town from 23-26 April, guaranteed to attract boating enthusiasts and glitterati alike. Asia’s premier leisure boat and luxury waterfront lifestyle event presents the latest super yachts, sailing yachts, powerboats, and luxury lifestyle products from leading brands including Ferretti, Fountaine Pajot, and Leopard.
Held at the world-class Marina at Keppel Bay on Singapore’s only private island, the event is set to transform Singapore’s waterfront with a host of luxury activities.
While Boat Asia 2008 generated over $57 million in revenue with a 22% rise in visitors, this year’s stellar line-up is expected to eclipse last year’s success and sink recession woes.
“Despite the current economic climate, there are certainly boating enthusiasts who see this as an opportune time to upgrade or buy their first boat. Boat Asia provides the perfect platform for them to check out the latest models and mingle with like-minded individuals”, said Herman Ho, Managing Director of TMX Show Productions.
The event specifically targets high-net worth individuals, who will have access to the elite Island Suite, a VIP Lounge with a panoramic view of the marina and floating stage. In line with the luxury lifestyle concept, there will also be an alfresco cafe and floating Grey Goose bar. Visitors will be treated to belly dance and musical performances and a fashion show featuring La Perla Beachwear Spring/Summer 2009.
Highlights include the 60-foot Marquis 600 Luxury Yacht, fusing contemporary European styling with cutting-edge American technology, and the award-winning Azimut 47. Named Boat of the Year at the Genova Boat Show in 2006 and 2007, the Azimut 67 is distinguished by its dynamic ergonomic design.
