We all know that green is the new black and this certified Green spa will make you feel like you have landed on a deserted island, surrounded by trickling waters and the liberating scents of organic essential oils.

As I enjoyed the lavish Lavender Crystal Mud Ritual, which employed Shiatsu techniques followed by a hot crystal mud bath, I wondered why I couldn’t simply live at the spa. It has everything an environment-loving girl could ever want: daily Yoga and Pilates sessions, cruelty-free make-up, a boutique selling organic soaps, lotions and candles, non-toxic paints and adhesives used throughout the spa, and private rooms named after the earth’s elements.

In the mood to be pampered, I indulged in the divine 4 Layer Spa Lift facial, a massage followed by the application of heated minerals and seaweed, which lifted off like a clay mask. Relaxed and invigorated, I decided to treat my dry winter hands to a Gold Spa Manicure Ritual using SpaRitual products. And yes, I even asked if the ‘vegan’ label meant I could eat the polish. But no, in this case, ‘vegan’ refers to DBP, formaldehyde and toluene-free products, translating into glamour without dangerous toxins.

Conveniently located near Kennedy Airport and Dyker Beach Golf Course, The Green Spa has gained a red dot on my map of NYC indulgences.
