Jonathan Kelsey’s shoes have you swooning the moment you set your eyes upon them, whilst Estelle’s talents as a singer/songwriter/rapper/producer know no limits. So it should come as no surprise that Belvedere Vodka has handpicked this creative duo to celebrate the release of its latest creation, the Belvedere Black Raspberry, for which Jonathan has designed the glorious Belvie Bag.

This oversized tote is handmade with cream and gold Italian leather and features a delicious, hand-dipped raspberry coloured suede lining. Estelle has not only lent her (stunning) face to The Belvie’s campaign, but was also Jonathan’s inspiration behind its design.

The tote will be launched this Wednesday, 29 April, in New York, and a pop-up store will be set up in London’s Mount Street between 5-9 May. This is the only place where style-followers will be able to pick up this limited edition bag, which retails at £900. If this is a little over your budget, fret not–from 9 a.m. onwards, one of the first 100 visitors to step into the pop-up store on the 5th of May will win a Belvie, so make sure you pencil this upcoming event into your agendas quick.

Belvedere recently had a quick chat with Estelle, and caught a glimpse of the personality that lies behind the persona.

How did you hook up with Belvedere and Jonathan Kelsey?
Jonathan does great shoes, let me say that for a start! He’s also a lovely guy, really sweet and it’s not often you get to meet people that genuine in this industry. When I saw the ideas he had for The Belvie I thought, ‘Now I can definitely work that handbag from day to night’!

You obviously have a real passion for fashion…who are some of your favourite designers?
I love Giles Deacon, and Raf Simons for men. Vintage Chanel is possibly the best thing on the planet, you just want to look at it, it’s too good to wear. YSL is another favourite, I like their shoes, a lot. And, of course, Margiela. And Charlotte Olympia is fantastic, she makes the best platforms ever.

Music, of course, if your first love – what’s on heavy rotation on your iPod right now?
I’ve been downloading a whole bunch of old-school stuff, a lot of Phyllis Hyman. I’ve rediscovered Sia, and totally fallen in love with Robyn. I’ve also been listening to a lot of old school R&B…Faith Evans, Mary J Blige, all the Bad Boy stuff.

What tune would you play to get the party started?
Probably something by Beyoncé, a really diva track, then some real hi-tempo exciting bashment stuff, a track by Elephant Man maybe, something to really kick the party off.

You’re travelling a lot these days…where do you call home?
I live on the tour bus, aeroplane or wherever the wind blows me, it’s pretty much transatlantic, though I still call London home, it’s where I grew up and I still own a flat there.

What’s your favourite city in the world?
Florence, I’ve been there way too many times, but it’s so romantic and beautiful it never fails to amaze me.

What about some of your favourite places and spaces to party?
There are so many, different places in different cities. In Paris, it has to be the VIP Room. In London, there’s this real underground party thing my friends put on called Trading Places, and Paper – go there on a Saturday night and it’s nothing but fun. In New York there’s this club called Santos, which is the shit, and another place called Gold Bar, which is a small members club that’s pretty dark except for the fact that the walls are decorated in small gold skulls.

What’s does Luxury mean to you?
Being able to have the things you want and really being able to afford them, to get them at your whim rather than scrimping and saving for them. It doesn’t have to be super expensive, just something you want. Me? I’m a ’shoe freak’…I love shoes, I have a whole room full of them, they’re everywhere, I can’t ever give a pair back once I’ve tried them on, it’s becoming a real problem. I go to sleep wearing them!

The Belvie will be available at the Belvedere Black Raspberry pop-up store in London, 100 Mount Street, 5-9 May 2009.

I’m interested too. Unfortunately it’s not promoted anywhere but I’ve found there’s a chance to win entrance to the private party on this other Belvedere’s website:
