Oozing glamour, sex appeal and celebrity status, Los Angeles can be a fascinating place to visit. However, it is only when you taste life in the glorious natural environments of San Luis Obispo that you can truly say you’ve experienced the real California.
San Luis Obispo is nestled between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and is often referred to as “California’s natural escape.” The locale features lush vineyards, turquoise blue oceans and rolling hills. Here you can spend your days leisurely strolling along white sand beaches or window shopping through the city’s unique boutiques and museums, savouring the tranquility which this little piece of heaven has to offer.
If you love wine, then you’re sure to enjoy the world renowned California Wine Country of Paso Robles located in the north country, which offers such authentic wine tasting tours you’ll think you’re strolling in the fields of Tuscany. The Mediterranean climate allows visitors to wine taste all year-round and enjoy some of the best and buttery Chardonnay in the region. The local cuisine boasts influences from all around the world and–best of all–locally grown produce is often used from California Central Coast producers, so you can rest assured that you are getting only the freshest and ripest ingredients available. Outdoor activities are plentiful and include hiking, biking, whale watching, charter fishing and water sports.
Lodging accommodations range from the moderate to the glamorous. If bed and breakfasts are your fancy, you’ll certainly enjoy the San Luis Creek Lodge, a family owned B&B with upscale interiors. Each of the 25 rooms feature charming décor, a spacious tiled or marble bathroom, and several rooms even come complete with jetted bathtubs. For those who crave luxury, the Sycamore Springs Resort & Spa is another alternative, and it is filled with countless amenities such as wellness retreats, seminars and even its own on site healing arts institute.
So if you’re tired of the hustle and bustle of your everyday life and are looking for a grand escape complete with relaxation, beauty and fun, then head out to San Luis Obispo.

Tolosa and Baileyana are two great wineries about 5 minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo – well worth the short scenic drive out to the Edna Valley. The wineries in this side of the Cuesta Grade make a nice cool weather contrast to the bigger hot weather wines over in Paso Robles.
And slowalkinhtours.com have a great one hour walk around the core of historic downtown San Luis Obispo that includes the Mission, Bubble Gum Alley, and the remains of old Chinatown.
