Take Terry Richardson, 11 of the world’s most beautiful women and a secluded piece of paradise on the Brazilian coast of Bahia, and what you get is the set of the Pirelli Calendar 2010.

Featuring the (topless) likes of Lily Cole, Miranda Kerr and Ana Beatriz Barros in seductively raunchy poses that include sloths, buffalos and bananas, the 50 shortlisted images will officially be unveiled in London on November 19.

Each photograph, shot at the glorious UXUA Casa Hotel, is characterised by Richardson’s trademark provocative flair and reflects his distaste for all things Photoshop. “I don’t love animating my photographs with technology, I want my photographs to capture moments of truth. I prefer natural models, without plastic. And I don’t retouch. Even if there is a flaw. My calendar shall be more human and less stylised.”

Reflecting the growing global consciousness of the ‘less is more’ mantra, Pirelli is at long last celebrating natural eroticism at its finest.
