Child’s Play: Jumpsuit Trend

It is common knowledge that designers find inspiration in the oddest of places. This season, they have regressed to their early years and revamped a childhood staple: the onesie. Designers such as Dolce and Gabbana and Chloé have overhauled the staid staples with printed patterns, silky fabrics, and embellishments.

Feel the need to invest in a jumpsuit of your own? Embrace the vacation vibe with a jersey playsuit by T-Bags or cotton-blend jumpsuit by Theory. The former features ruched shoulders and a self-tie halterneck, while the latter has a drawstring waist which may be adjusted to accentuate curves.

For a more festive summer look, slip on a cherry red Rebecca Taylor romper and strut your stuff down the boardwalk. And if you’re heading to the shops, a monochrome constellation-print Anna Sui silk playsuit is the epitome of chic casual.

Be warned – the jumpsuit is no longer reserved for child’s play so add a dash of character and class with a relic from the past.
