July 2009 – Body Beautiful: The Naked Truth

Body Beautiful is the brainchild of award-winning New York-based photographer Edwin Ho. Inspired by personal experiences to raise cancer awareness, Ho shot a series of portraits featuring people affected by this devastating disease. Using powder to craft human ‘landscapes’, Body Beautiful emphasises the importance of appreciating and protecting our most treasured asset – the human body.

Chic Today caught up with Ho in Singapore, where the portraits were auctioned in aid of the Molly Lee Appeal, a partnership with the KK Hospital Health Endowment Fund for Women with Gynaecological Cancers. The Appeal was established in memory of Molly Lee, an ovarian cancer patient who received the Singapore Woman Award 2008 for empowering young women to fight cancer through her blog WeAreWonderWomen.com
