The impact of erotic dreams can change the way you see the person you were dreaming about. Anyone who has dreamt that they are making love or even kissing someone that they have never previously found attractive can find himself or herself developing a serious overnight crush. This might be our higher guidance trying to tell us something. Alternatively, the person in real life might repulse you, not to mention it can be quite alarming if the person is your boss, a friend or even your friend’s husband.
Dreams don’t discriminate and it is hard to close th door on someone you may have fallen in love with in your sleep. Sex is sometimes better and more vivid than we may have experienced, causing us to feel aroused about a person we don’t know in our waking hours. If you see the person you dreamt about, you may have the same emotional response as if you made love to them in real life. You may blush, stammer, feel embarrassed and slightly ashamed of the night you spent together in your dream.
If you have had such a dream, try not to read too much into it. Gauge the emotions involved and whether the dream means anything, but don’t pitch your relationship on “This is meant to be, as I dreamt it”.
There are three ways to decipher if the dream has a meaning:
• Give the dream a film title. This will give you a way of connecting with the story.
• What was the main drama of the dream? Are you being seduced or the seducer? How comfortable do you feel?
• Compare the dream to your real-life situation.
Often, a dream is playing out something from your subconscious mind that requires your attention. Never underestimate the impact of erotic dreams but try not to take them literally, otherwise actors would have a host of stalkers who say they are “The One” based on their dreams!
