The Awards Gala of the 21st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF), presented by Cartier, was held at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Mary Hart.
The star-studded evening kicked off with A-list celebrities taking a stroll down the red carpet at the Palm Springs Center. Festival favourite Morgan Freeman was presented by none other than Clint Eastwood, whilst Quentin Tarantino was awarded the Sonny Bono Visionary Award, named after the festival’s founder.
The award winners included: Morgan Freeman — Career Achievement Award (Male); Helen Mirren — Career Achievement Award (Female); Jeff Bridges — Desert Palm Achievement Award; Mariah Carey — Breakthrough Performance Award (Female); Jeremy Renner — Breakthrough Performance Award (Male); Jason Reitman — Director of the Year Award; Anna Kendrick — Rising Star Award; T Bone Burnett — Frederick Loewe Award for Film Composing.
